I’m not knocking higher learning or any single school out there. What I’m trying to do is bring the idea of learning down to its most basic principal so that we, as parents, can give our children the key to learning -and the key to their own futures.
Let’s boil it down.
Book learning is good, but going out there and applying that knowledge in business is better. That’s what turns armatures into professionals.
Look at Virgin. Their name says it all. They were young and new to business but Richard Branson was able to show people that a fresh young group could be successful – because they weren’t held back by the rigid structure of most companies.
At their core they were just a group of friends working together to get their business off the ground… and now they’re planning Virgin Galactic!
It’s easy to see that their experience working together in business has been the real teacher.
But your children don’t have to start their own record labels to get this learning experience, it’s as easy as dialing up a few friends on Skype.
